Tru Me Pageant

I don’t usually give a hoot about pageants, but I think this one is wonderful.

Tru Me sets out to portray the individual essence of beauty, glamour, and the versatile success of every confident and self-loving transgender individual. The pageant beauties promise to emulate the spirit and outlook behind each glamourous individual through their honest, sexy and unique selves to impress and win the hearts of the voters.

There can only be one queen. So as the search for our Queen begins, we hope each contestant will bring home a memorable journey, and set a milestone in life as they celebrate one’s true self.

Despite what many pageants say about finding gracious and kind young ladies who are beautiful on the inside, the swimsuit parades, whitened teeth and caked-on makeup often signal otherwise. But this one is really not about what you are, but who you are. And I like that. I like it a lot.

    I am all for beautiful on the inside. I somehow can’t divorce personality from looks. It becomes one. An outwardly good looking person can turn ugly for me when they are mean. They will never be good looking to me….a bit like that movie Shallow Hal. Also someone who reveals their inner beauty through their actions is the one who is most beautiful to me. People might say I’m not being ‘objective’ but that’s fine by me.
